How to Reach Kedarnath Temple and History: Kedarnath is the largest Shiva temple in Uttarakhand and it is one of the Chardham and also Panch Kedar of India. Being adjacent to the Himalayas, the snow falls in the wintertime and the temperature is very low, so the doors of the Kedarnath temple are closed for Devotees. The priest of the temple closes the temple of Kedar baba on mid-time on November 15 or two days before Scorpio Sankranti, and, in this case, the Panchmukhi statue of Kedarnath is brought to “Ukhimath”. And this is where worship is done and after 6 months 13-14 April the reopening opens again.

- First of all, the temple is cleaned every morning and after that, the Kedarnath temple opens for visitors from 6.00 am(Morning time).
- In the afternoon 3.00 pm to 4.00 pm special pujas aarti take place and then the temple is closed.
- The temple is reopened at 5 pm for devotees.
- The priests and Temple staff duly adorn the five-faced statue of Lord Shiva, then in the evening, there is 7.00 pm to 8.00 pm regular aarti.
- The temple is closed again after 8.30 at night
How to Reach Kedarnath Temple
If you want to visit Kedarnath temple then it is very easy to reach Kedarnath because you can reach here by road, rail, and airplane. Kedarnath can be reached from any city in India.
By Road – Kedarnath Temple is situated at a distance of only 458 kilometers from Delhi ( the capital of the country) and only 230 kilometers from Dehradun, (capital of Uttarakhand).
By Train – If you want to reach Kedarnath via train then you can come from Delhi to Haridwar or Rishikesh by train. It is the nearest railway station to Kedarnath but after Rishikesh, you have to go to Kedarnath by local taxi or bus.
By airplane- If you want to reach Kedarnath by Airplane, then you can take a flight from any city in the country to the International Airport Jolly Grant and after that, you have to take a bus and taxi.
