Indian Railway is a very appreciable and favorable department for all the candidates who are seeking a job, especially government one and therefore, they are doing a lot of hard work and keep an eye on the railway recruitment board so that they can be the part of this prosperous department and serve through whole career life. Indian Railway, which is owned and controlled by Ministry of Railways Government of India (GoI) and is Asia’s fourth largest railway network according to its size. The network of Indian Railways is divided into zones, department, sub-department, divisions, and regions so that the work operate in a good manner. Railway department has distributed its employees in a hierarchy according to their work and efficiency.
Railway employees are divided into four groups and get their commission & salary structure according to that. Candidates are recruited for Group A, Group B, Group C and Group D, as per their qualification. Employees for these groups are recruited by various Railways Recruitment Boards (RRB’s), Railway Recruitment Cell (RRC) and Railway Protection Force (RPF). How To Apply For Railway Jobs?
Railway recruitment board is inviting online applications from the candidates and they need to first go through the official notification of recruitment as per their region. The online registration procedure for railway recruitment is divided into three stages and each stage holding different fields demanding candidate’s information related to the educational, personal and another verification process. Here is the step by step procedure of railway 2018 exam online registration.
First of all, candidates need to visit the official website of selected region, then click on New Registration option for applying RRB posts online.
The new window will open, there you will find some important information related to online registration. Read thoroughly and in the bottom, click on I agree or I declare checkbox and press submit button.
On the new window, candidates have to fill the mandatory fields related to their personal details like Name, Father’s name, Date of Birth, Email Id and Mobile number (for future communication by railway board authority).
After re-confirming your mobile number and email id, you need to enter the captcha code given on your window and in the last, you have to declare and confirm your data filled by you.
And in the last, click on continue button.
Once you submitted your first stage application successfully, you need to click on ‘Verify through OTP’ option in the homepage and after that, a one-time password (OTP) will be sent to your registered mobile number and email id for verification.
Click on the ‘Candidate Login’ button on the homepage of the railway website, using your registration number (send to your communication medium) and date of birth.
At this stage, candidates have to fill the details of educational qualification, gender, religion, etc.
Be careful with the next step i.e. post preference. You have to give the RRB post preferences according to your choice.
And in the last, click on submit button.
After completing stage 2, candidates need to upload their scanned photograph and documents for further procedure.
Once the uploading part is finished, candidates will reach the payment part. Payment of the fee is mandatory for all the candidates. They have to pay a fee according to their category, whether by net banking or by post office challan.
After submitting fees, your online registration for RRB will be completed.
You will get a confirmation message from the official authority, both in your mobile number or email id.
After all these steps, candidates should take a print out of the application form and fee receipt for your convenience and future use.
How To Modify RRB Online Application 2018?
What if? when something goes wrong while filling online application form? If that has happened, then don’t worry about that, because railway recruitment board is giving you an option to modify your application form. Candidates need to visit again on the official website and click on Modify Application option on the online registration portal. You have to pay Rs 100/- for all the candidates (there is no exempted categories i.e. SC/ST/PWD/Ex-SM/Woman/Minority/Economically backward class candidates) to edit the online application which is already submitted. RRB is providing two options for the candidates and these are:
- Application modification and apply to different RRB: Candidates can have the chance to apply for another RRB.
- Application modification in the same RRB: Candidates can only edit their already registered applications.
Points to be Remember
- Once the fee is paid, the money will not be refundable.
- The scanned photograph and documents of the candidate should be in jpg/jpeg format with 100 DPI.
- Size of the scanned photograph should be 20 KB minimum and 50 KB maximum.
- Size of the SC/ST certificate should be greater than 50 KB and less than 100 KB.
- The photograph dimension should be 35mm × 45mm only. And, it must have been taken on or after 1st December 2017 and must have the date and name printed on it. For more information, check the sample of acceptable photographs in the uploading section.
- In modifying application form, fields that cannot be modified are Name of the candidate, date of birth, father’s name, email id and mobile number.
- The modification is the last option to apply and to edit the RRB application form.
